Budgeting, cooking, laundry, talking with housemates — the everyday skills that make the next lease possible.
Education pathways
Help getting back into school, GED, community college, or trades, with quiet space at home to study.
Workforce readiness
Resumes, interview practice, and introductions to Antelope Valley employers who will hire young adults.
Wellness & navigation
Warm introductions to counseling, mentoring, and community supports. We do not replace clinical care.
How it works
From first conversation to settling in
-
See what is open
Look at homes and rooms in Palmdale and Lancaster — what is open, limited, or coming soon.
-
Reach out
Youth and caregivers ask about a room. Case managers send a referral with urgency and context.
-
We confirm together
Placement staff check eligibility, bed status, and timing, then plan move-in with you.
-
Settle in and build
A room of your own, plus coaching for school, work, and the skills to stay housed after you leave.
Why we exist
Aging out of foster care should not mean couch-surfing or a shelter bed. We give young adults a real room, a house community, and coaching for school and work — so the next chapter starts with dignity.
- · Furnished rooms with clear house expectations
- · Separate doors for youth, caregivers, and case managers
- · Partners across SPA 1 who hire, mentor, and support
Impact & accountability
Housing is the start — community impact is the story
Second Chance Homes Inc serves young adults leaving foster care and the neighbors around them. We publish residences we support, resources we share locally, and how fast the placement desk aims to answer — then keep those numbers honest as the work grows. Staff update the figures in Sanity whenever they change.
Community impact
Residences served. Resources given. Neighbors helped.

FAQ
Common questions
Who can live here?
Young people ages 18–21 leaving foster care in Antelope Valley / LA County SPA 1, plus caregivers and agencies helping them find a place. Homes are usually single-gender with one person per room.
How do I know if a room is really open?
Each home shows open, limited, or full, with the date staff last checked. A hold is only real after the placement team confirms — not by clicking alone.
How fast do you answer agency referrals?
We aim for 48–72 hours. Use the referral form for urgency notes, or contact the placement desk for time-sensitive cases.
What support comes with the housing?
A furnished room plus coaching for independent living, school, and work — so the next step into private-market housing is realistic.
Can my organization partner with you?
Yes. We welcome county units, CBOs, faith groups, educators, and employers. Visit Partners or Contact to start the conversation.
